Deal Farm, Bressingham
Client: Bidwells for South Norfolk Council
Martina was appointed by the Local Authority to support their team in assessing policy compliance of a partially retrospective planning application for an anaerobic digester in Bressingham. The proposal was built not in accordance with the approved application for a similar, but smaller, facility; the work undertaken included the review of the submitted Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and landscape strategy.
The planning application was refused for reasons including landscape and visual impact. The applicant appealed to the decision and therefore Martina acted as an expert witness at the inquiry for the Local Authority. The Inspector ruled in favour of the Local Authority and the digesters have now been removed to preserve the local rural character and visual openness.
