The Cherry Hinton project delivers a new science district in Cambridge through the revitalisation of a brownfield with severe ground contamination. The townscape and landscape assessment work undertaken for an Environmental Impact Assessment guided the proposal through the pre-application and design process.

The commercial aspiration for height and massing was high in order to create a competitive science hub, Martina’s thorough assessment of potential impacts was crucial to create an appropriate design transition between the existing industrial and residential townscapes, as well as mitigate impact on key Cambridge views.
