Cambridge North project will deliver 1million sq ft of laboratory and office space and 425 build-to-rent homes. The masterplan evolution was guided by townscape and landscape assessment, which formed part of the Environmental Impact Assessment.

The relationships with the contextual residential townscape, conservation areas and the River Cam landscape were key to the assessment of potential impacts and the development of an appropriate design response. This was also the first project where all parties, including the Local Authority, actively engaged with VuCity, which was also pivotal in the understanding of visual impacts throughout the pre-application stage.

Martina also supported Jeremy Smith’s preparation of his proof of evidence for the public inquiry, which led to a planning approval.
