The proposals sought the creation of a new science centre with a café and gym for workers, visitors and the local community. Alongside this, a co-working space and gym would be provided to improve health and wellbeing.

As the scheme had potential impacts on both landscape and heritage, a robust analysis was undertaken to help guide and form the emerging proposals to ensure impacts were kept to a minimum or removed altogether.

With a focus on sustainability, the development exceeded standards for energy efficiency and retained existing structures where possible.
